What you need
- Chrome or Edge browser
- An email address for your account
Step 1: Install the extension
Go to the Chrome Web Store (or Edge Add-ons) and search for "fatbrowser", or use the install buttons on the fatbrowser.com homepage. Click Add to Chrome (or Get on Edge).
Once installed, you'll see the fatbrowser icon in your browser toolbar. It may be hidden behind the extensions puzzle-piece icon — click that and pin fatbrowser for easy access.
Step 2: Create your account
Go to fatbrowser.com/signin and sign in with your email. You'll receive a magic link — click it to log in. No password needed.
Step 3: Connect the extension
After signing in, go to Connect Extension in your dashboard. This page gives you a one-time code. Click the fatbrowser extension icon in your toolbar and paste the code. The extension is now linked to your account.
Step 4: Browse normally
That's it for setup. The extension runs silently in the background. Within a few minutes of browsing, you'll see data appear on your Today page: your focus score, focus time, distraction count, and feeds avoided (if Minimal Mode is on).
What happens next
On the Free plan, you can see today's metrics at any time. If you upgrade to Pro, you'll also get access to your 30-day history and focus insights. See the dashboard guide for a full walkthrough of each view.
