Privacy Policy for fatbrowser
Last Updated: February 19, 2026 This Privacy Policy explains what data fatbrowser collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. 1. What the Extension Collects The fatbrowser browser extension tracks aggregated focus metrics: - Focus score (a percentage) - Focus time (minutes of sustained work) - Distraction count (context switches) - Feeds avoided (when Minimal Mode hides a feed) - Best streak (longest uninterrupted focus period) The Extension does NOT collect: - URLs or page titles - Page content or screenshots - Keystrokes or form input - Browsing history All processing happens locally in your browser. Only daily aggregated summaries are sent to your fatbrowser account. 2. What the Website Collects When you create an account, we collect: - Email address (for authentication via magic link) - Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details) We use cookies for session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. 3. How Your Data Is Used - Focus metrics: displayed in your personal dashboard (Today, History, Insights views) - Email: used for authentication, team invites, and important service updates - Payment info: processed by Stripe for subscription billing 4. Team Data If you join a team, your focus data contributes to team-level aggregates (team average focus score, total feeds avoided). Team administrators can only see these aggregate numbers. They cannot see your individual focus scores, browsing patterns, or any per-person data. This is enforced at the data layer — individual data is never exposed to team views. 5. Data Sharing We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except: - Stripe (payment processing) - Resend (transactional emails like magic links and team invites) These services only receive the minimum data necessary to function. 6. Data Retention and Deletion Your focus data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing support@fatbrowser.com. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. 7. Children's Privacy fatbrowser is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. 8. Security Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication uses secure magic links. We follow standard practices for protecting stored data, but no system is perfectly secure. 9. Updates to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of fatbrowser after changes constitutes acceptance. 10. Contact For questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at support@fatbrowser.com.
